Federal Funding
Manufacturing 21 leaders worked in partnership with Northwest Defense Coalition and our Northwest Congressional delegation to secure a $2.5 million grant for manufacturing from the Defense Logistics Agency. Funds will be used to:
- Support advanced materials research at Portland State University;
- Expand the ability of regional companies to compete for defense contracts;
- Create worker training programs benefiting the region's defense contractors; and
- Support the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Program.
These funds are adding extra punch to private and state resources committed to supporting manufacturing in the region.
