WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Our region’s manufacturing companies face severe shortages of skilled workers. This shortage will worsen as the Baby Boom generation retires. The training pipeline leading to manufacturing companies is largely empty. Many of those who do make their way to our front door often lack the hard and soft skills needed to succeed.

MFG 21’s role is not to deliver programs or replace existing systems. We are committed to rolling up our sleeves, as a private industry-led group, and working with workforce development boards, community colleges, universities and private organizations to ensure we have a skilled and work-ready workforce. We are confident that if we do this, we will create opportunities for the people of the region and success for our companies in the years to come.
