April 20, 2007 – The Manufacturing 21 Coalition (MFG 21) has co-sponsored the March-April 2007 issue of AOI’s “Business Viewpoint” magazine. This edition of the Associated Oregon Industries’ publication focuses on the region’s workforce development challenge.
“Oregonians should be concerned that the state’s manufacturing sector faces a skilled labor worker shortage,” writes David Marks, Coalition chair and CEO of Marks Metal Technology in Clackamas, Oregon. “The so-called worker pipeline issue affects businesses and taxpayers throughout Oregon.”
Marks adds: “Robust companies produce greater tax revenue for the state to fund essential services that sustain a healthy, competitive business environment.”
The edition was co-sponsored by Oregon Workforce Partnership, a network of regional worker training organizations.
