MFG 21 federal workforce and R&D dollars flow around the region

Published: September 04, 2008

This summer federal funds allocated to MFG 21 by Congress were distributed to workforce training projects around the region – from Southern Oregon to Southwest Washington.  All training projects are underway. Funds also were released to Portland State University to conduct applied materials research and to the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition. An additional $1 million will be on tap, ready for distribution in October.

It is a point of pride that every penny MFG 21 earns through advocacy goes to programs.  Not a cent is used to support MFG 21 operations or grant coordination activities.

The federal funds were gained with the strong support of Oregon and Washington’s federal delegations. They are among the strongest supporters of our region’s manufacturing economy.  Please take a moment to thank each one of them this fall.
